For generations we have been engaged in the design, development and production of cardboard packaging for all possible applications. Dealing responsibly with the environment is part of the basic philosophy of the company.

Active sustainability policy

Climate change and plastic soup are environmental problems that we as a company can actively do something about by developing more environmentally friendly production processes and reducing environmentally harmful substances. For the same reason, there is also a lot of attention for energy saving.

Geo thermal pump instead of natural gas

At Remmert Dekker there is no gas meter in the business premises. Geothermal energy is used for heating and cooling in combination with heat pumps, which means 40% (!) less CO2 emissions. The system has been further modernized, which saves an additional 200,000 kilowatts of electricity annually.

Green power

Remmert Dekker has installed 100,000 KWh worth of solar panels on the factory building, providing a large share of the energy used in green electricity

Sustainable cardboard

When purchasing cardboard, we try to take the environment into account as much as possible. Remmert Dekker is both FSC® and PEFC certified. Both are schemes for responsible and sustainable forest management. FSC® is better known, but PEFC, however, has a twice as large share of certified forest and when setting the standard, this PEFC is done “bottom up” from a forum of various stakeholders. Two big pluses in our opinion.
